The power train group covers the components between the engine and the ground: torque converter, transmission, driveshaft, differential, final drives and the clutches and seals inside them. It multiplies engine torque into the pulling force the machine needs. Heat and contamination cause most failures — oil that has broken down varnishes the clutch packs, a leaking final drive seal lets grit into the planetary set, and a worn driveshaft joint shows up first as a vibration at a particular speed.
